In our continued effort to demonstrate the love of Christ in a tangible way through this difficult season, we have been led to give $250,000 to relieve suffering caused by COVID-19 and express gratitude here in Little Rock and around the world!
We are only able to give this gift because of the continued faithfulness and generosity of the people in our church. C3’s missional heart and sacrificial giving have placed us in a unique position to respond to this crisis.
If you feel led to further partner with us in this response, we welcome you to give through the link below.
The majority of all donations will be distributed to alleviate suffering and diminish food insecurity caused by the current pandemic. 25 percent will provide meals right here in central Arkansas, while 50 percent will be distributed through our mission partners to some of the most vulnerable communities in the Caribbean, East Africa, and South Asia.
The final 25 percent of donations will be used to purchase gift cards from local restaurants and coffee shops, buoying our local businesses and economy. The gift cards will then be distributed to medical workers at local hospitals, first responders with LRPD and LRFD, and to local grocery store workers. Additionally, Little Rock Christian Academy has donated “ear savers” that we will be giving with the gift cards that help alleviate the pressure caused by elastic bands on protective masks worn by many frontline workers.
We will be including hand-written notes of encouragement along with the gift cards and “ear savers” to frontline workers. This will require a large volunteer effort to both write notes and distribute the gratitude packets. We have created special cards for these notes and if you are interested in assisting with this initiative, please e-mail KimS@C3LR.org.
